Social Ammunition Films is proud to announce that the screenplay for Mr. Jack has been awarded the Silver Award at the International Celebration of Cinema in the Best Script/Screenplay category.
The International Celebration of Cinema, based in Standish, England, is a globally respected festival distinguished by its commitment to non-elitist, non-political evaluation of work from filmmakers at every level of experience. Every submission is viewed and judged by an international panel of industry professionals from both in front of and behind the camera, with extensive connections to mainstream television networks, distributors, and media outlets worldwide.
The Silver Award at the International Celebration of Cinema is a mark of exceptional quality — awarded by an international jury to screenplays that demonstrate outstanding craft, originality, and storytelling vision.
This recognition brings Mr. Jack's total screenplay awards and selections to eleven across festivals in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany — achieving a 55% international selection rate against an industry average of 17%.
Mr. Jack is an independent drama written and directed by Mick Lexington, set in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The film tells the story of a failed painter who returns to New York to reclaim his life and the woman he left behind — only to be drawn into the orbit of a charismatic, self-destructive artist whose world will cost them both everything.
Principal photography is currently underway in New York City. Post-production will be completed in partnership with Twickenham Film Studios, UK.
