Manhattanhenge Film Festival — Official Selection
Social Ammunition Films is proud to announce that the screenplay for Mr. Jack has been named an Official Selection at the Manhattanhenge Film Festival in the Feature Screenplay category.
The Manhattanhenge Film Festival is a traveling celebration of cinema that bridges the creative energy of New York City and Los Angeles, providing filmmakers with networking opportunities that connect both coasts of American independent film. An IMDb-qualifying festival, Manhattanhenge is judged by a special jury of academicians, producers, and professional filmmakers committed to championing the best independent voices from around the world.
That a film rooted in the streets of Manhattan's Lower East Side should earn recognition from the Manhattanhenge Film Festival, named for New York City's most iconic visual phenomenon, carries particular resonance for the Mr. Jack project.
Mr. Jack is an independent drama written and directed by Mick Lexington, set in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The film tells the story of a failed painter who returns to New York City to reclaim his life and the woman he left behind, only to be drawn into the orbit of a charismatic, self-destructive artist whose world will cost them both everything.
Principal photography is currently underway in New York City.
