Big Apple Film Festival — Honorable Mention
Social Ammunition Films is proud to announce that the screenplay for Mr. Jack has received an Honorable Mention at the Big Apple Film Festival and Screenplay Competition in the Feature Screenplay category.
Celebrating 23 years of independent film in the heart of New York City, the Big Apple Film Festival (BAFF) is one of the most respected independent film events in the country. Named one of MovieMaker Magazine's "Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals" and "Top 25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee," as well as a FilmFreeway "Top 100 Best Reviewed Festivals," BAFF has a distinguished track record of connecting independent storytellers with industry professionals.
An Honorable Mention from BAFF — a festival dedicated to the New York independent film community — is a meaningful recognition for a film that calls the Lower East Side home.
Mr. Jack is an independent drama written and directed by Mick Lexington, set in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The film tells the story of a failed painter who returns to New York to reclaim his life and the woman he left behind — only to be drawn into the orbit of a charismatic, self-destructive artist whose world will cost them both everything.
Mr. Jack is currently in pre-production, with principal photography scheduled to begin in New York City. Post-production will be completed in partnership with Twickenham Film Studios, UK.
